Wilfried Nancy insisted he was not afraid of the sack, asserting, “We are really close to changing our fortunes,” even after moving dangerously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive defeat by the Ibrox side.

Another Capitulation Sees Derby Defeat

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

Nancy remains focused on the fact Celtic can perform strongly for 45 minutes at a time. Indeed, were it not for wastefulness in front of goal they would have been greater than 1-0 up. “There were positives other than the fact that we haven’t scored more goals,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay fair.

“The performance we had at certain moments was exceptionally high. That happened. I wouldn't talk like that if it was untrue. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I said we've seen this before. Which is why I feel we are nearly there to getting it right. But for the moment: small things.”

“We produced many, many good things that we did, like today again. However it’s about consistency. My outlook would change the same. That’s why I am a big believer the team can to turn things around.”

The Rangers Boss Stance

The victorious boss was cautious about a serious challenge despite what seemed like a huge result. “Step by step, then we can develop something here,” he said. “The faith in the squad is immense.”
