Esteemed Star The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

American performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
