Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
