The Red Devils Poised to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for United
The forward, with six months left on her deal, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee coup for the WSL team.
Departure from Bayern was expected since she was seen fighting back tears while applauding the club's fans following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its top strikers. According to reports, the formalities for the transfer are now finalised.
Consistent Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major boost to the team's forward line. She has been highly reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- For seven straight seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
